An earthen home of cob, bamboo & reclaimed timber
Treehouse Shakti is a cob home that celebrates round curves that this style of earthen architecture is known for. It is hard to find any 90 degree angles in this house. A plaster made of lime and sand is used to strengthen and create the beautiful smooth finish.
"Cob is a structural composite of earth, water, straw, clay, and sand, hand-sculpted into buildings while still pliable…" — Ianto Evans, The Hand-Sculpted House, 2002, p. xv
The house constructed with primarily eco-friendly paint and materials. The wooden beams are made from recycled/reclaimed wood.
Amongst nature & community
Located within Ubud Eco Village (also known locally as “Desa Alam Indah”), Treehouse Shakti is one of 11 homes in the village. Ubud Eco Village is popular amongst Green School families who make a large part of the community.
The community shares a common large pool and garden situated in the communal areas. The Communal Building and gardens are run by solar power.
Treehouse Shakti is the shy house of the village, located in the most secluded area facing directly towards the jungle.
